LIFE OR DEATH?
A TAG MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!

Can you guarantee your dog will never become lost? Of course not! Someone could leave the gate open, the leash or rope break, or a number of things could take place. Your dog cannot tell people his address but an identification tag can!

A License I.D. tag is a must! It's not only the law but it's the basic protection your pet needs. People are more apt to rescue a lost dog who has a license, knowing that the dog has an owner who cares. Tags offer that extra margin of safety if your pet is impounded in violation of "at large" laws, regardless of the reason the pet got loose. Animal Service Officer's can trace tagged animals to their owners or find the pets veterinarian in case it's been hit by a car. Tagged animals are held longer than stray animals without a tag. Tags can make a difference for your pet!

ISN'T YOUR DOG WORTH THE PRICE OF A LICENSE TAG?

IF YOUR PET IS HERE AT THE SHELTER IT WAS IMPOUNDED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

Your dog was violating a City "Leash Law" which states that no dog shall be at-large without a leash and not in the direct control of it's owner; or is "at large" as defined in the city animal codes.

Your dog was not wearing a city license as required by law.

No responsible adult was present at an animal's supposed "home" to accept responsibility for the animal and sign a citation for an ordinance violation.

Your animal was capture in a "humane" box trap or restrained on property other that the owner's and removed by request.

Your animal was threatening the safety of humans and other animals and was removed.

Your animal was placed in quarantine "rabies suspect".

IN OTHER WORDS:

TO PROTECT THE ANIMAL FROM CARS, POISONS, DISEASE, AND IRATE CITIZNES.

TO PROTECT THE COMMUNITY FROM THE ANIMAL'S DIGGING, BITING, SCRATCHING, BARKING, BREEDING, AND DEFECATING.

TO LOCATE YOU!
