Waste Management Collection Guidelines

 

Waste Management is the provider of residential solid waste collection and disposal for the residents of Pine Bluff.

 

Residential Solid Waste Collection

 

  1. Residents should place their cart at the curbside, away from any obstacles.
  2. Residents should place any extra household waste that won’t fit in the cart in bags or approved containers and place it beside the cart. Cardboard boxes, paper sacks, and metal or plastic barrels are not approved containers.
  3. Residents should have their cart placed at the curbside no later than 6:30 a.m.
  4. Residents should place any residential construction debris they have in an approved container or tie it in bundles of less than fifty (50) pounds.

 

Residential Heavy Items Collection

 

  1. Residential heavy items collection includes the following items: stoves, refrigerators, water tanks, washing machines, dyers, water heaters or other appliances, furniture and similar waste or discarded items. This does not include cardboard boxes full of or piles of discarded items.
  2. Residents are required to have any item normally containing freon gas clearly marked by a certified contractor as having the freon gas properly removed.
  3. Residents should place any heavy items at the curbside in the vicinity of, but not in front of or directly next to their cart on their normal collection day by 6:30 a.m.

 

Residential Yard Waste Collection

 

  1. Residents are required to bag or bundle their yard waste and separate it from their household waste.
  2. Residents should also place their yard waste at the curbside in the vicinity of, but not in from of or directly next to their cart on their normal collection day by 6:30 a.m.
  3. Residents should bundle tree limbs or shrubs in length of less than three (3) feet and not more than fifty (50) pounds per bundle. No yard waste item should exceed more than two (2) inches in diameter.

 

Waste Management’s Collection Responsibilities

 

  1. If any resident’s cart or trash is not out for the scheduled pick-up, Waste Management’s driver is required to call it in to the Waste Management dispatcher.
  2. If any trash is spilled or dropped while the driver is servicing a resident, the driver is required to clean it up.
  3. If a driver moves any resident’s cart or trash can, the driver is required to place it back where it was found, never blocking a street, road, sidewalk, driveway or mailbox.
  4. Drivers are required to run their route the same way each time, meaning the driver will begin at the same time and place every time the route is run, every day, and every week.
  5. If a resident requests an emergency cart repair of delivery, Waste Management will provide it within 48 hours.
  6. If a resident requests a non-emergency cart repair or delivery, Waste Management will provide it within five (5) business days.

 

If a resident’s solid waste, heavy items, or yard waste is not picked up, they should first contact Waste Management at (870) 247-3747. If the waste has still not been picked up by the next day, the resident should contact the Mayor’s Office at (870) 543-1855 or fill out a Waste Management Information Form.
