MAYOR REDUS ELECTED MUNICIPAL LEAGUE’S DISTRICT 4 V.P.

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – At the 72nd Arkansas Municipal League convention on June 16, 2006, Pine Bluff Mayor Carl A. Redus Jr.’s colleagues elected him as the league’s District 4 Vice President.

Of the honor Redus said, “I look forward to the responsibilities inherent to this position and hope Arkansas’ cities and towns will recognize in me a strong advocate for their interests. Because the City of Pine Bluff shares many of the same challenges and desires as other Arkansas municipalities, my colleagues and their constituents may rest assured that I will work hard with the other three district vice presidents to support the direction and mission of the league’s new president, Morrilton Mayor Stewart Nelson, and vice president, Conway Mayor Tab Townsell, as we pursue our common interests with our lawmakers at every level.”

Each of the Arkansas Municipal League’s four districts corresponds to one of the state’s four congressional districts. Arkansas’ 4th Congressional District is composed of Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Clark, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Garland, Grant, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Jefferson, Lafayette, Little River, Lincoln, Logan, Miller, Montgomery, Nevada, Ouachita, Pike, Polk, Scott, Sevier, and Union counties.
