Disposal of dead animals on private property is the
responsibility of the property owner.

Pine Bluff Animal Services is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the city’s animal codes. The department strives to prevent rabies in humans and pets, promote responsible pet ownership, protect, and serve the public.

Overview:

The Department of Animal Control is responsible for the protection of our citizen and the welfare of animals in the community. Animal Control Officers are agents of the city designated by the Mayor to administer and enforce the licensing, inspection, and enforcement requirements of all laws governing animals. Officers responds to complaints regarding animal abuse, stray animals, animal bites, and attacks. The agency is responsible for the sheltering of unwanted, abandon, and stray animals in the city. Animals are housed at the animal control facility, where they are cared for and held for pick up by their owner. Animals that are returned to their owners are evaluated for placement in the adoption program. These animals are placed in loving homes with responsible owners.

Public Service
Animal Services is responsible for the protection of our citizens and the welfare of animals in the community. Our officers are agents of the city designated by the Mayor to administer and enforce requirements governing animals.

Shelter Services
The agency is responsible for the sheltering of unwanted, abandon and stray animals within the city. The shelter accepts animals from people who reside in Pine Bluff and when possible Jefferson County.Animal Care
Animals housed at the city’s animal shelter are held five days including one Saturday for pick up by their owner. During the detention period, they receive care, evaluated, and tested. Animals that are not returned to their owners are placed in our adoption program.Field Services
The department receives and investigates complaints regarding all types of animals. We offers animal traps free of charge to residents who are having difficulty with wildlife animals in or near their home, as well as traps for feral cats and stray dogs.
