Pine Bluff USPS Supports Breast Cancer Awareness and Research

The Pine Bluff US Postal Service kicked off the month of October, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Mayor Shirley Washington. Mayor Washington purchased the first breast cancer research stamps of 2017.

The commemorative stamp was first issued by the US Postal Service in 1998. According to USPS.com more than $829 million has been raised to fund breast cancer research programs across the country, with the sale of the stamp. It is sold only during the month of October.

Books of the stamp are available for $12, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to breast cancer research.

The Pine Bluff postal workers have also decorated the post office in support of those who have fought, and are fighting breast cancer. They will also wear pink all month long.
